Driving Safe

Hi All,

 

Just wanted to reach out to all of you regarding the sorry state of affairs on the Roads of Hyderabad.

 

The meandering Autos or the brash Taxis. The local Buses or the construction trucks. Even the many Pulsars that just try to squeeze in among all the above and the cycles that pretend to be the Pulsars and follow the same path... What we do is curse all of them to heaven and back under our breath.. Hope that you reach safe today or if you are in a 4 wheeler then reach home without an additional Dent or a scratch. 

 

Have we really thought about the state of affairs. We sometimes do talk about them in the comfort of our drawing rooms, over a cup of tea/coffee, suggesting how these people should be caught and may be hanged in the full public view as a sign to the others who dare repeat. But does it change the sate of affairs.

 

The population of the city just explodes. In a matter of few years the floating population has more than tripled. the young (and the reckless) have money enough now to go for their dream vehicles. Those who don't need at least some mode of transport to go and earn their bread. And then the hordes of Taxis come in along with the long line of Autos to satisfy this need. The autos push and pull to make way.. just to reach that second faster than the trip before. The autos loaded with double the capacity meander their way in or around the the stalled traffic the earn their living in this chaos.

 

When we say the drivers don't know how to drive, how can we assume that they have been told how to. They are just here to earn their living. Make that extra trip and earn a few more bucks. How does it matter that its not humane to block the left lane or the opposite lane to that matter. How does it matter that the lady on back of the scooter is holding a baby and the car driving too close. They are just earning that extra buck. They too have to feed their families back in their towns/villages. They too yearn for that Pulsar, Big TV which their passengers just take it in a matter of fact way. So who is to blame..

 

Can we blame the Traffic officers, the enforcers for not enforcing the rule. But what can they do. When the no. of cars expands to four times in 4 years. The roads are still the same and after every rains goes back by a decade. When the no. of officers on the road are still the same, what possibly they can do. May be just hope the no. of accidents today remains at the average. Hope that people dead doesn't cross yesterday's count.

 

Lets not look at others. Who made us free of our responsibilities. Is it our right just to crib and do nothing. Lets think.. and realize our duties....

 

Just want all of you to think and contribute. We forward jokes and pictures of god with the hope that we get riches. Lets take this initiative and spread the word..

 

Its an humble request to reply back to me with your views, opinion and suggestions regarding this whole affair. I am planning to maintain a blog to store all our views. To vent it all out.. to at least make people think.. to make them act..
